Super duplex steel UN32750 Hex Bolts Nuts Studs
(UNS S32750) is a super-duplex stainless steel; a high-alloy duplex steel with a PRE value of min. 42*. The grade is characterized by very good chloride corrosion resistance, combined with very high mechanical strength. Super duplex steel is particularly suited for use in aggressive environments such as warm chlorinated seawater and acidic, chloride containing media.Need to know morEMAIL USA multi-purpose super-duplex steel
Suitable for service in highly corrosive conditions and where high strength is required, the properties of Super duplex steelare being widely used in offshore oil and gas exploration and production and in heat exchangers in petrochemical and chemical processing. The grade is also suitable for hydraulic and instrumentation applications in tropical marine environments.Main characteristics
- Very high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion

Containing 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 3.6% molybdenum as well as copper, tungsten, and nitrogen, UNS S32760 is a highly alloyed super duplex stainless steel with high PREN for use in aggressive environments.
This is a super duplex grade with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure. The alloy consists of around 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. The super duplex microstructure has the high strength of the ferritic grades whilst retaining the corrosion resistance of the austenitic grades. It is not uncommon to see the metal used as a practical solution to chloride-induced stress cracking, which is the Achille’s’ heel of stainless steel.
It also has outstanding resistance against sulphide-stress corrosion cracking in sour-gas environments.
Well known for its high impact strength, UNS S32760 displays no ductile-brittle transition but only a slight reduction in impact energy as temperature decreases. Even when welded, UNS S32760 displays only slightly lower impact strength.
It was initially developed as a seawater resistant material for pump applications in the North Sea. Following its success, it became the desired material for a wide range of uses including oil and gas applications, seawater, subsea pipework systems, heat exchangers and more.

The balanced duel phase microstructure combines high strength with cost effective corrosion resistance particularly in high chloride environments. Super Duplex has the same benefits as its counterpart – it has lower alloying costs when compared with similar ferritic and austenitic grades with equipment corrosion resistance in chloride containing environments due to the material’s increased tensile and yield strength. In many cases this gives the purchaser the welcomed option of purchasing smaller thicknesses without the need to compromise on quality and performance.
